Honda City 2017 bookings cross 5000 units

Honda Cars India will launch the facelifetd City on 14th Feburary 2017 and the company has already started accepting the booking of the sedan.

The fifth generation City has a style with sporty exterior design, enhanced safety features and advanced high-technology infotainment system, the company said. Honda City 2017 is being offered in five different variants - S, SV, V, VX and ZX - and features several cosmetic changes, inside and outside.

In India, Honda has sold more than 6.5 lakh units of the City since its launch.

"With the launch of the Honda City 2017, we aim to exceed our customers' expectations by offering value at a very competitive price", said Honda Cars India president and chief executive officer Yoichiro Ueno.

Inside the cabin, the refreshed Honda City features a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with turn-by-turn navigation, 1.5 GB on-board media memory, MirrorLink connectivity, voice recognition and a rear-view camera.

On the outside, the two top end variants, VX and ZX will get LED headlamps with LED fog lamps, 16-inch diamond cut alloys and electric sunroof.

The petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a CV automatic transmission whereas the diesel engine is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The earlier version of Honda City, which was launched in 2014, remains one of the most successful models for the company. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.5 litre engine and is priced between Rs 8.5 lakh and Rs 13.52 lakh. Customers opting for the entry-level S variant can only get the vehicle with the petrol motor. Customers will also get automatic headlamps and wipers, six airbags (dual front, side and curtain), cruise control and automatic climate control with rear AC vents. The new City also has first-in-segment auto-folding door mirrors in V, VX and ZX grades. The top-end ZX grade offers rear-adjustable headrests as well.
