Borussia Dortmund have shown two faces this season, with their lacklustre domestic form in stark contrast to their scintillating European run, which they hope to extend against Benfica in the Champions League round of 16 on Tuesday. "We go into these games with plenty of desire, and with the ambition of doing better and going further in the Champions League than the last few years".

Emre Mor has established himself as one of the brightest talents in Turkish football and he did provide an assist in Dortmund's 2-1 defeat against Darmstadt on the weekend. However, Benfica are having a better time of things domestically than Dortmund as they now top the Primeira Liga, whilst Tuchel's men are down in 4th in the Bundesliga, 15 points off Bayern.

Dortmund have been on fire lately and the Germans losing is unlikely, they will have Marcel Schmelzer, Lukasz Piszczek and Mario Gotze back for the game.

Eduardo Salvio could return for Benfica after recovering from an ankle injury.

Greece striker Kostas Mitroglou scored twice as Benfica eased past Arouca 3-0 on Friday to remain one point clear of Porto at the top of the Portuguese league.

Though BVB have impressed in the Champions League this season, they haven't made it past the last 16 since 2013-14 and, with the German Cup their only other chance of silverware this term, the competition has taken on even greater significance than usual. Dortmund scored a record 21 goals during the group stage.

Prediction: Dortmund hasn't been overly consistent this year, while Benfica has also had its fair share of problems.

"I'm proud to be the coach of a player like him".

The second leg in Germany is scheduled for March 8.
