Face Recognition Tech Still Insufficient for Security

This APK can be installed on any Samsung device running official Android Nougat, as I can confirm on my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7.

On this episode of Geared Up, we take a look at what makes the S8 special, and whether it stands up to Samsung's claim that it's the biggest thing to ever happen in the smartphone market. The second surprise though, was that Samsung had teamed up with Microsoft to sell a "Microsoft Edition" Galaxy S8.

A major new feature of the phone is the artificially intelligent voice assistant dubbed Bixby - effectively the company's answer to the iPhone's Siri.

On March 29, Samsung unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S8, finally confirming or debunking rumors about the handset.

Samsung with its Galaxy S8s has pulled off something called the Infinity display which is basically more screen at the same size.

Samsung has said in the past that its Face Unlock feature isn't created to be the most secure option, rather as a convenient alternative to entering a code or using your fingerprint, and has prevented the tech being used for mobile payments. With one phone held up to the facial scanner with an image of the owner on the display, the phone's sensor appears to believe it's looking at its owner and unlocks the device.

Apart from providing users with improved connectivity and performance, the Galaxy will also have a "Bluetooth Dual audio" feature. The Samsung Galaxy S8 is Samsung's answer to the Note 7 issue from a year ago so they went all out for people to move on from that debacle and focus on the latest one. There's plenty of other options available on the Galaxy S8. The new Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be powered by an octa-core 10nm processor (four cores clocked at 2.3GHz + four cores clocked at 1.7GHz). What are your thoughts about the upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus?
