WASHINGTON - Cesar Hernandez hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer off Joe Blanton in the eighth inning, and Philadelphia beat Washington to stop a four-game losing streak.

The Atlanta Braves have played only two games at SunTrust Park, but so far they seem to be enjoying their new home entering the third game of a four-game set Sunday against the San Diego Padres.

3rd in National League West, San Diego Padres (5-5) takes on 5th in National League East, Atlanta Braves (2-6) tonight.

Although Weaver has never faced Atlanta, two Braves have plenty of experience against him.

The Atlanta centerfielder got the first hit and scored the first run after catching a fly ball for the first out at the new home of the Braves.

Julio Teheran (1-0) was a bit wild but lasted six innings. The game did not start until 7:53 p.m. ET because of the festivities.

Dickey allowed seven hits, two to start the seventh inning before he was pulled, walked one and struck out six.

Then it was time for the 83-year-old Aaron to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, reprising the role he filled for the first and last game at Turner Field.

Twenty years earlier, Jones helped christen Turner Field, which never seemed like a place the Braves would leave until November 11, 2013, when longtime team executive John Schuerholz announced the franchise would be moving to the corner of I-75 and I-285 in Cobb County at the start of this 2017 season. The Braves were 13-for-63 (.206) with runners in scoring position over the first eight games. He gave up both San Diego runs, working around four walks and two hit batters.

Banks has been an usher for the Braves dating back to their first year at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium in 1966.

Hardy's two-run blast in a three-run fifth was his first of the season and gave the Orioles the lead for good after they trailed 3-1.

The Braves are strongly encouraging fans to purchase pre-paid parking passes to games as they will help alleviate delays around the stadium. "The bullpen picked me up and we won the (Wednesday) game".

"It's not the easiest pick in the world for Wil", manager Andy Green said, "but he usually comes up with that".

"He's probably experienced anything and more than all the rest of us in this clubhouse", said manager Brian Snitker. Or, worse, "maybe I would've gone out there and pitched through it and maybe hurt myself more", Cahill said.

SunTrust Park is located in the busy Cumberland Community Improvement District in Atlanta and flows directly into The Battery Atlanta- a 1.5 million-square-foot mixed use development that sports boutique retail shops, restaurants and entertainment, according to the Atlanta Braves website.
