MARVEL'S THE DEFENDERS Trailer Is Here!!

The trailer for the Netflix Marvel series pays homage to the eclectic vibe of the era by featuring legendary grunge band Nirvana's hit "Come As You Are".

It's no secret that while Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage all enjoyed positive buzz when they debuted on Netflix, the fourth installment in the Defenders franchise, Iron Fist, was not so lucky. After you check out the trailer (directly below), join us in taking a look at some of the key details we've learned and the biggest questions we're looking to have answered this August!

Quickly, the other members of The Defenders are also introduced and even though they may not be at a point where they are ready to work together, it looks like the team might have to figure things out quickly. "The war for NY is here", says a voiceover by Daredevil's former mentor and teacher, Stick, again played by Scott Glenn. And it's very encouraging, especially after the lukewarm reception earned by the most recent Netflix superhero series, Iron Fist.

The Defenders may have four protagonists, but let's face it, Iron Fist, star of the worst-received show of the bunch, is plainly the odd one out-and the trailer knows it. Marvel and Netflix can't force the Luke-Danny friendship since they don't have a history together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it's something fans will definitely be watching carefully in The Defenders. Misty Knight (Simone Missick from Luke Cage) is interrogating her when Matt Murdoch, a.k.a. Daredevil (Charlie Cox) walks in himself to offer his services as her lawyer.

Elodie Yung will return as Elektra, Scott Glenn as Daredevil's mentor Stick, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth.

Meanwhile, Sigourney Weaver will be seen in the villainous character of the series as Alexandra. Defenders showrunner Marco Ramirez described her as "sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous", and you get that immediately by the way Weaver moves and speaks in the trailer.
