It was announced over a year ago that Arrested Development's fifth season was in the works, but the lack of any updates since had fans a bit anxious. (After years of built-up expectations, some critics have attributed that as partly the fault of the original run's success.) Arrested Development boosted the careers of every member of its cast, particularly Bateman's.

Because he had just "officially signed" to do more Arrested Development.

"Look very probable I'm going to put some miles on the Stair Car this summer", he tweeted.

Rumours of a fifth season began circulating last July, when Netflix boss Ted Sarandos said that "it was only a matter of when."

Twentieth Century Fox Television and Netflix have yet to comment on the new season, so we'll have to see if we're actually getting those 17 episodes. All of the actors are quite busy with other work, including Jason Bateman.

It's understandable that it's tough to get everyone on set at the same time, given the fact that actors like Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, etc. are all pretty big stars right now, but we hope that Netflix is able to find a way around this.
