Cavaliers take 3-0 series lead over Raptors

Last year, they were 99-84 winners in Game 3 with DeRozan scoring 32 points and won 105-99 in Game 4 with Lowry scoring 35. Toronto has sunk 8.3 treys (third-from-the-bottom) a night at 35.1% accuracy so far. It's also about time the Cavs struggle to get stops, as this simply isn't a good Cleveland defense and it's about time Toronto takes advantage of that.

The Raptors' leading scorer had just five points in Toronto's 125-103 blowout loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday, and he still wore the frustration from his puzzling performance after Thursday's practice at Biosteel Centre. On the Raptors side of the ledger DeRozan was a one-man scoring threat with 36 through three while the Cavs spread it around a little more, led by 21 from James but with 16 each from Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.

James and those bench players (though in this case, Thompson playing instead of Channing Frye) were highly effective in the last series against the Indiana Pacers.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Cory Joseph.

Especially against a Cavaliers team that played below its 2017 postseason standard in the first half. They trailed by only two after three quarters before the Cavaliers blew open the game. The amount of breakdowns we had, you can't win that way. They have put in a lot of sweat equity to get here. Bismack Biyombo wasn't there to turn to when they needed him most, and the Raptors had no one waiting in the wings to fill his shoes. The Raptors' best punch was supposed to be more potent.

While his talents are appreciated in Cleveland, Korver knows there is a long list of talent on the Cavs' bench.

When the Raptors and Cavs squared off a year ago, the early results were quite similar. He's won three championships the past six seasons and helped the city of Cleveland celebrate its first championship in decades previous year when he willed the Cavs to overcome a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors. He went to the locker room to have his ankle re-taped and returned to start the second. "And we're a different team". But among the players on Toronto's $108 million roster, they need to slow James to some degree.

They will need both Lowry and DeRozan at their best.

The Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers Game 3 kicks off at 7:00 p.m.

Various media reports said Kerr is unlikely to coach this series, but the team said he has not been officially ruled out to return this round.

Nevertheless, there was a real chance for the Raptors in this one, but only if everything broke right. "I don't think about the past or the future", he said.

The Raptors went up by three again when DeRozan's free throw completed a three-point play. "But I am still confident with us going home". James started the game trailing Jordan by 211 points with 5,776 points.

DeRozan's night was perfectly summed up when he, a career 82% free throw shooter, missed a pair of free throws to end the first half.

Casey added that he thought the officials missed Thompson throwing Norman Powell into Kyle Lowry, resulting in a Lowry injury.

James, who scored 74 points combined in Games 1 and 2, was asked about the Ibaka play after Friday's shootaround. After making the trek to Cleveland, only to see their club crushed, large swaths of fans didn't go quietly into the night. The Raptors went 14-7 while he was out.
