The fans justifiably took their anger out on MVP candidate James Harden, who didn't score his first basket until midway through the second quarter. "I was making some passes ad we just didn't knock down shots or whatever the case may be".

In the Spurs' two regular season wins, they were able to hold the Dubs to less than a 100 points, which is below their season average of 115.9 points per game.

Game one of the best-of-seven Western Conference Finals will be played at the Warriors' Oracle Arena on Sunday (Monday 5.30am AEST).

So far through the postseason, they have looked like a similar team.

The Spurs waltzed into Houston on Thursday night for Game 6 without Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker and destroyed the Rockets, 114-75, in one of the most lopsided elimination games in National Basketball Association history.

October 25 in Oakland: The Spurs spoiled opening night for the Warriors, as well as Kevin Durant's debut with his new team, rolling to a 129-100 rout at Oracle Arena. Record-wise, the Warriors 67-15 regular season mark represents the best to go up against Popovich during his stint in San Antonio. Leonard missed the overtime period in game 5 against Houston after tweaking his left ankle, and sat out game 6 while the Spurs rolled over the Rockets by a final of 114-75.

Meanwhile, after missing Game 6 against Houston, Leonard said he will be ready to play in Game 1 against the Warriors.

Anyway, the Spurs won the series in six games.

Asked if Harden was injured, D'Antoni said, "He's been battling that cold, but nothing I know of".

So when the Houston Rockets head coach took a step back to evaluate this Western Conference Semifinals against the San Antonio Spurs, he wasn't afraid to speak some truth.

Collectively, they also made up for the absence of Tony Parker, their starting point guard, whose season ended when he ruptured his left quadriceps tendon earlier in the series.

Game 1 in the series is Sunday.

San Antonio was up by 23 after the third quarter and scored the first seven points of the fourth to make it 94-64 and send numerous home fans streaming to the exits.

Green and company enter the conference finals as overwhelming underdogs, with few outside of South Texas expecting an extended series verses the Warriors.
