One of Maruti Suzuki's key dealer Rana Motors in south Delhi registered about 80 percent of the bookings for the petrol variant with the balance 20 percent for diesel.

Maruti Suzuki, together with its suppliers, has invested over Rs 1,000 crore for the development of the all-New Dzire.

Built on Suzuki's fifth generation "Heartect" platform, the new DZire continues to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine which delivers 82 bhp and 113 Nm of torque and the 1.3-litre diesel engine that churns out 74 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. However, this is one of the few places where the Dzire loses out.

India's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has launched the third generation of its highly successful compact sedan Dzire. "Now we have designed a whole new Dzire for sedan customers, to fulfil the growing aspirations of a young and prosperous India", said Ayukawa. The boot space can now gulp 378 litres of stuff, which is 62 litres more than before.

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire is scheduled to be launched in May, 2017.

As per MSIL, the diesel DZire delivers a fuel economy of 28.4 kmpl, thus being the most fuel efficient vehicle in the Indian market.

The new Dzire gets its power from a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel powertrain. On the other hand, Tigor sedan is offered with 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.

The sedan would be mainly produced at the company's Manesar facility. All but the base LXi and LDi models will come with the option of an AMT gearbox.

The interiors have been tweaked too, with the addition of a rear AC vent, touchscreen infotainment system and a flat bottom steering wheel with faux wooden accents.

Automobile major Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday launched the new Dzire sedan. But more importantly, it gets dual front airbags and ABS with EBD standard for safety.

Next in line are the VXI and VDI trims.

The Z trim (ZXi, ZDi) packs in alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering, rear parking sensors, fog lamps, rear defogger, keyless go, auto climate control and electric retract wing mirrors. The top-end trim is equipped with features like LED projector headlamps, daytime running lights, 15-inch two-tone alloy wheels and a 7.0-inch Smartplay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation support.
