Arsenal determined not to sell Alexis Sanchez to rivals Manchester City, Chelsea

Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with a move for Sanchez in recent weeks but he is understood to want to remain in the Premier League.

Arsenal must meet whatever contract demands Alexis Sanchez makes, even if he wants £300,000-a-week in a deal that would smash the club's wage structure, according to Ray Parlour.

While not a rival like the aforementioned Blues or red Devils, but seeing Sanchez in a Champions league-contending Manchester City stripe, would be the equivalent of a kick to the proverbial groin for Gooners, especially if Arsenal declines to retain the Chilean import. In the next year, however, Guadiola left Barça to Bayern Munich. "In an interview with BBC Sport, he said", My agent will take care of where I'll play next season.

Could we still keep Alexis Sanchez by giving him a huge pay rise or is the writing already on the wall?

Arsenal have offered Sanchez, 28, more than double his £130,000-a-week terms to try and tempt him to stay.

With a £250 million war chest to exploit this summer, City have the financial resources to go bonkers and lay down a lucrative offer Arsenal may be forced to accept.

Sanchez was caught in the middle of the season with Arsenal manager Arsenal Wenger.

Sanchez has enjoyed his worldwide career as well, winning back-to-back Copa America with Chile. He does not want to lose any of his key players, and is apparently reluctant to do business with any Premier League club.

Bayern were looking increasingly unlikely to beat City, and other interested clubs such as Chelsea, to Sanchez's signature but the latest revelation in this protracted saga could now reinvigorate them and cause Carlo Ancelotti and his board to test the waters again.

He scored in their 2-1 FA Cup Final victory over Chelsea at Wembley last month.
