Major League Baseball is taking a page out of the XFL's playbook, at least for one weekend. The Mount Prospect, Ill., native was a Second Team All-Ivy honoree after tallying a 7-2 record with a 2.64 ERA.

He also hit.294 and tied for fifth in the conference with 15 doubles, tying for a team-best five home runs and six triples - a UH mark not attained since 1997. The multi-tooled Hayes was drafted as a pitcher after serving as the Commodores' closer last season and registering seven saves.

Suchey and Taylor were the lone Tide players selected over the three days, while Troy University did not have any player selected during the three days of the draft.

Stratton finished the campaign with an 8-3 record and a 3.93 earned run average, as he worked in 16 games and started 14 this season.

Just four picks later, another Big Red pitcher-junior lefty Justin Lewis-heard his name called by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 850th overall pick. He was chosen in the 17th round with the 509th overall pick by the Miami Marlins.

First off the board was former Dobyns-Bennett Indian shortstop Hunter Wolfe, who was selected in the 12th round with the 358th overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Like with numerous top historical programs in college baseball, Georgia Tech must deal with incoming recruits potentially not enrolling at Tech due to being drafted in the MLB Draft. Breaux batted.356 with a.476 on-base percentage this season. Hayes was part of the 2015 World Series team as well, batting.362 during that season. He was a member of the All-SEC Academic Team this past year. "While Nelson and Lescher have the option to sign or return, Cousins and Bleday, as seniors, will sign professional contracts and soon begin their journeys toward the major leagues".
