President Trump called the death of Otto Warmbier, American student freed from North Korea, a "disgrace", Tuesday.

Even as Warmbier's family prepared to mourn him at a public funeral service Thursday in OH, the circumstances behind his death remained unclear.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said the office accepted the case of Otto Warmbier, who died Monday in a Cincinnati hospital.

"It's a total disgrace what happened to Otto". "And frankly, if he were brought home sooner, I think the results would have been a lot different".

On Tuesday, U.S. Sen.

"The North Korean regime is mistaken if it believes that its barbaric mistreatment of an American citizen held in depraved captivity for over a year will pass quietly".

Barring Americans from stepping foot in North Korea would mark the latest US step to isolate the furtive, nuclear-armed nation, and protect USA citizens who may be allured by the prospect of traveling there. But some have been seized and given draconian sentences for seemingly minor offenses.

A public funeral service for a US student who was detained in North Korea and eventually released in a coma has been scheduled for Thursday at his hometown high school in Ohio.

"What we have in North Korea is a regime who will stop at nothing to advance a tyrannical agenda".

Based in China, the touring company promises "adventure holidays"; trips like the one Warmbier took commonly include round-trip travel from Beijing, with several guides for groups of up to 24 tourists. Other travel companies say they're considering a similar restriction. North Korean state media reported that he was arrested for committing "hostile acts" against the government.* Kim Hak Song also taught at PUST, which was founded by evangelical Christians and opened in 2010.

The U.S. side is expected to press China to cooperate on a further toughening of global sanctions on North Korea.

On Tuesday, Trump upended much of that works in 140 characters, tweeting that Chinese efforts have "not worked out". "I don't know if we'll ever know", she added. "But in the end the only way to find out is to have a dialogue with North Korea". Only by making human rights a primary demand - for everyone in North Korea, citizens and foreigners alike - can they reasonably hope to change Pyongyang's abusive practices. In the House, lawmakers lined up behind legislation from Rep. Adam Schiff, a Democrat, and Rep. Joe Wilson, a Republican.

It was unclear whether his remark represented a significant shift in his thinking in the USA struggle to stop North Korea's nuclear program and its test launching of missiles or a change in US policy toward China. No licenses would be issued for tourism.

President Donald Trump denounced the treatment of Warmbier in North Korea after news emerged of his passing.

Warmbier's family also released a statement on Monday announcing his death. He thanked the US for supporting Ukrainian defense and reforms, calling his home country a "story of success".

16 March 2016 - Mr Warmbier goes on trial in Pyongyang where he confesses to stealing a propaganda poster, and is sentenced to 15 years of hard labour. "And he most certainly should not have been murdered for it", Senator Rubio said. "Despite what you may hear, North Korea is probably one of the safest places on Earth to visit".

John McCain said Tuesday that Americans who are "stupid" enough to still want to travel to North Korea should be required to sign a waiver absolving the US government of any blame should they be harmed while there. Ojea-Quintana said that "time is running out" for many elderly Koreans keen to see relatives separated since the 1950-53 war and backed Seoul's proposal to resume them in August.
