A 78-year-old man has died two weeks after an accident that reportedly involved Venus Williams.

Barson's wife said that she had T-boned Williams' SUV when Williams abruptly entered an intersection.

Another vehicle then T-boned Williams' SUV, injuring the driver and her husband.

"TMZ cites a Palm Beach Gardens police report that says "[Venus] is at fault for violating the right of way of [the other driver]".

"Many vehicular manslaughter cases involve allegations that the drivers was intoxicated".

TMZ notes that there was no evidence Venus was under the influence of any drugs or alcohol or distracted by an electronic device.

Williams told police she was trying to make it through the intersection before the light changed but was slowed by traffic and left exposed.

That led to the collision that ultimately claimed the life of her husband, as her vehicle struck the front-left corner of Williams' SUV. Bustle has reached out to reps for Williams for comment and to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.

The driver was taken to the hospital after reportedly suffering broken bones.

Williams had previously received citations in Florida for driving without insurance in 2009 and driving on a revoked license after causing an accident in 2013.

He would not say if police were probing Williams or whether the family would be looking for compensation.
