The prosecution had asserted not to give bail to the actor in the wake of various reports surfacing online supporting the actor. Dileep will remain in judicial custody and till July 25 has been shifted to the Aluva sub jail.

The special prosecutor contended that Dileep should not be granted bail and if he is, there are chances that he would try to destroy the evidence. A leading actress was abducted by a gang in a pre-planned strike on the night of February 17 when she was heading for Kochi from Thrissur in a auto.

Lawyers from the prosecution team also told the media that at a time when the police was on the lookout for Dileep's driver, Appunni, who is absconding, giving Dileep bail would jeopardise the case.

The actress, who shared screen with Dileep in several films, stated in her complaint that she was abducted on the night of Feb 19 this year while she was travelling from Thrissur to Kochi.

Dileep's lawyer told reporters that they would approach the High Court for bail.

The actor's counsel argued that his client was made an accused in the case merely on statements given by the first accused "Pulsar" Suni, who is a habitual offender. Dileep has been remanded till July 25.

Police reportedly conducted a search in the house of Dileep in search of the mobile phones. It is said that the raid was as part of a bid to retrieve the cellphone of the accused, which allegedly contains the visuals of sexual abuse of the actress.

Police in its remand report had claimed that Dileep had developed a grudge against the actress for letting his former wife know about his alleged affairs and hatched a conspiracy to take revenge way back in 2013. More people from film industry will be quizzed under the case.
