Joshua Hupperterz, a 29 year old former Temple student, has been arrested and is being charged with the murder of Jenna Burleigh.

In a press conference Saturday night authorities say that Joshua Hupperterz, 29 has been taken into custody and is facing multiple charges including the murder of 22-year-old Jenna Burleigh, CBS Philadelphia reports.

He said crime scenes were processed at Hupperterz's North Philadelphia apartment at 1708 N. 16th St. and a home in Jenkintown, which reportedly belongs to Hupperterz's mother and stepfather.

As of now, Hupperterz is the only suspect in the case, although authorities said that could change.

Her father posted a status on Facebook earlier today saying: "Our Beautiful Angel Jenna is now in Heaven".

A letter from Temple Student Government called Jenna Burleigh a "big hearted" person who spent much of her time fighting discrimination. Police said they have no information to indicate the two had a previous relationship.

Investigators believe Burleigh died inside the apartment on the 1700 block of North 16th Street. Police believe Burleigh was killed in Philadelphia and then taken to the Wayne County property. Hupperterz also popped up on the radar of police in Scranton in 2013, when he allegedly broke into a home and stole electronics, credit cards, laundry detergent, and a half keg of beer.

Police haven't released the circumstances or cause of Ms Burleigh's death but say the murder does not appear to be premeditated.

"This is early", Ross said. We want everyone to know that the community is safe. We still have a lot of work to do.

"There are things we can not discuss right now, but there are also things we just don't know", he said. Temple Police is collaborating with Lower Salford and Philadelphia police to review cameras and investigate, said Charlie Leone, the executive director of Campus Safety Services.

"We need your help in finding Temple student Jenna Burleigh, who was last seen on August 31st at 2am", Temple police wrote in a tweet. She was majoring in film and media arts, Temple spokesman Ray Betzner said.
