Instagram did mention that votes would be public when it announced the feature on its blog and in the app. Facebook Stories had gone off to a slow start, but this new integration should see more engagement on the relatively quiet feature of the social networking app.

The feature was first tested in Portugal last month before TechCrunch spotted it in the USA and got confirmation from Facebook that it's coming to everyone. Us either. Facebook hopes to fix that with a cheat: Allowing Instagram users to cross-post their Instagram Stories to Facebook.

Facebook and Instagram have tied their platforms closer together, in a setup that will satisfy heavy social media sharers.

According to report from TechCrunch, Instagram members will able to share their Instagram Stories to Facebook Stories, i.e. you can cross-post Stories on both Facebook and Instagram.

"You now have the option to share your Instagram Stories to your Facebook Stories", a Facebook spokesperson confirmed to PCMag. After all, no one uses Facebook Story.

Facebook Stories were introduced globally in March 2017 after testing the feature in Ireland. Well, this is also one of the reasons for Facebook to allow direct posting of Instagram Stories on Facebook Stories.

Initially, users could only share to friends or groups of friends. Facebook Stories might be livelier now.

Despite it having pride of place at the top of the News Feed, most Facebook users are ignoring it, possibly because the Facebook Camera is still relatively new and unfamiliar.
