Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday congratulated Manushi Chillar for winning the coveted "Miss World 2017" pageant at Sanya in China.

The 20-year-old looked very shocked when her name was announced, her family in the audience couldn't contain their excitement either. I'm also looking forward to the year ahead.

Overall, now you all know that the Grand finale of the prestigious Miss World 2017 pageant took place in China in which about 108 beauty queens from across the globe participated.

Alma Andrea Meza Carmona, representing Mexico, and Stephanie Jayne Hill, representing England, finished in second and third places, respectively, at the 67th competition held in Sanya City. Manushi wants to become a Cardiac Surgeon from the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonipat.

Indian model Manushi Chhillar is the new Miss World, after 17-long years.

She said a mother deserves it most. She is the biggest inspiration in my life.

Chhillar was handed the crown by last year's victor, Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico, at the ceremony in the Chinese coastal city of Sanya on Saturday night. It's not always about cash but also the love and respect that we give to someone.

In an interview during her grooming, she said: "The only thing I believe is certain in life is uncertainty, and this is what is awesome about the pageant". "If an organisation like Miss World backs this, it could reach a different level altogether", she had said.
