David Cassidy, "Partridge Family" actor and 70s heartthrob, has been hospitalized and is "surrounded by family", his representative told The Associated Press.

His family are now said to be at the hospital to be by his side as his condition worsens.

David Cassidy is in critical condition as his organs are failing, his rep confirmed to the Daily News.

Other media sites have reported Cassidy is suffering from organ failure.

Cassidy's family was with him, and the 67-year-old hoped to receive a liver transplant, his publicist Jo-Ann Geffen said.

Earlier this year, the actor announced that he planned to retire from touring, and later revealed to People that he's battling dementia.

"He is in the hospital and it's not looking good", a source told E!

He went on to become a successful singer garnering a loyal fan base and performing many of his hit songs from "The Partridge Family", such as "I Think I Love You". His rep told The News he was admitted to the hospital "either Wednesday or Thursday" for being "very ill".
