Waze also added in a new vehicle type: Motorcycle. Waze now has support for carpooling lanes, the first on all navigations apps at large.

Waze is an app that tends to get new features on the regular, but the update landing today is definitely worth paying a little more attention to.

You can activate "Motorcycle" as your vehicle type in settings.

"Whether you're riding with one passenger or more; in a hybrid, electric, or clean-fuel auto; with a special pass; or a combination of all of the above, Waze will determine your optimal route".

The new motorcycle mode will direct bikers to routes that are optimized for two or three wheels, based on where other users have traveled.

"Not only is it convenient, it's safer, allowing you to stay focused on the road ahead", Waze wrote.

Massive Waze Update Brings 'OK Waze' Voice Command, Motorcycle Vehicle Option, and HOV Lane Support

If you've never ridden a motorcycle in your life, there's still plenty in this update for you. To do this, go to Settings Sound & voice Talk to Waze, and then toggle the "Listen for "OK Waze" on". Still, the Waze voice commands are in line with Google's own command, which is saying, "OK Google", for hands-free access to Google Assistant. An evolution of the existing Waze Voice Commands, you can now initiate your drive, get a preview of the route ahead, send reports, and add a pit stop-all without lifting a finger from the wheel.

Finally, we come to high occupancy vehicle, or HOV, route support. To switch the feature on, you'll need to provide the app with some extra details about your vehicle and its occupants because the requirements for using carpool lanes vary in different places.

To enable HOV lane support, go to Settings Navigation Add Toll/HOV pass Select from a pre-populated list of passes available in your area.

The feature is now supported in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and D.C as well as Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.

The Waze voice commands are already available in English for users in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
