While there are scores of purchases that can be made using Alexa, the top purchases made through "voice shopping" were the Echo Dot, Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, the company said.

Amazon said 2017 was its biggest holiday season with customers all around the world shopping at record levels.

A Google spokesperson made a statement regarding its battle with Amazon stating that since Amazon doesn't carry Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, nor does it make Prime Video available for GoogleCast users, Google is no longer supporting YouTube on Echo Show and FireTV, 'given this lack of reciprocity'. Customers worldwide shopping on the Amazon App increased almost 70% this holiday season.

The Amazon Echo line of smart speakers had its best holiday season ever, led by the Echo Dot. The most popular item viewed with AR view throughout this holiday season was a black chair with ottoman.

Four times the amount of music was streamed over Alexa during the holiday season on a year-over-year basis. Note that Amazon only resumed selling Apple TV devices last week after a two-year hiatus - and the Apple TV 4K set-tops sold out within hours.
