Well, while this became quite a news, all that leaped the situation is the lady constable slapping her back at the moment.

Superintendent of Police, Shimla, Soumya Sambasivan said a case has been registered against Asha Kumari, on a complaint by the constable concerned, under sections 353 and 332 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Congress MLA Asha Kumari slapped a woman constable in Shimla on Friday after she was denied entry to Congress President Rahul Gandhi's review meeting. "She (the lady police constable) abused me and pushed me, she should have shown restrain".

Ms Kumari reportedly tried to enter the party office along with AICC president Rahul Gandhi to attend the election review meeting but she was not allowed by the police.

Later in the day, during an address post the meeting Gandhi said, "I am not happy at it". No one has a right to raise hand against someone, at least not the Congress culture.

News organisations have not yet identified the constable who slapped the MLA back.

Rahul will meet party legislators, defeated party candidates and district presidents, and discuss with them the reasons for the defeat. A miffed Rahul told party leaders that he did not appreciate such behaviour.

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017 were held in single phase on November 9. The BJP had won 44 seats in the hill state to oust Congress' Virbhadra singh from the chief minister's chair and his party from the government.

The MLA from Dalhousie Asha Kumari was not available for comments.
