'Multiple Deputies' Injured in Shooting South of Denver

The shootings occurred after deputies responded to a call at about 5:15 a.m. local time to what they thought was a domestic problem at an apartment complex but which turned out to be a disturbance unrelated to any domestic dispute. Three victims at one hospital were suffering non life-threatening injuries, but the condition of the other patients is unknown, according to the station. Another two civilians were also injured. "It was nearly immediately after that" that the suspect shot the officers. The suspect was also neutralised.

The police authorities in Colorado, United States informed that a number of deputies from a sheriff's office in suburban Denver shot by an armed man.

A procession for the fallen officer will take place from Littleton Hospital.

A SWAT team responded to the scene, according to a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's office, and a major highway south of the city was shut down. Suspect shot & believed to be dead & no longer a threat.

"Any citizens in the affected area are instructed to shelter in place, avoid windows and stay away from exterior walls", the office tweeted.

County officials set up an emergency shelter for those displaced by the incident, citing the "size and scope of the investigation".

The deputies who were injured crawled to safety, but could not pull Parrish out of the way.
